“Babe.”

Chemutai called her lover from the bathroom where she stood in front of a mirror as she squeezed a blob of toothpaste onto her toothbrush. She had a spotlessly white towel draped around her from under her arms to a few inches just above her knees. It was vast as bathrooms go, unlike the one in her house which was so small and poorly-lit, it looked like an afterthought.

“How do millipedes make love, I mean, have sex?” she asked absently, then popped a pimple on her left temple.

Her lover, who lay on the bed facing the wall rolled over. He was tall and huge, with a big pot-belly and a hairy chest. Chemutai loved to play with the hair. Because of their age difference, she was sometimes embarrassed to call him, ‘babe’. But he loved it. And she loved that he did.

“What a question? You never cease to amaze me.”
He laughed. Then stopped.

“Are you crazy?” he asked.

“Curious,” She said nonchalantly, as she begun moving the toothbrush in gentle circular motions on her front teeth.

“Google!”

“Aha!” she interjected and turned on the water tap. She cupped her hands, filled them with water and gargled. She brushed some more.
Satisfied that her teeth were well cleaned, she gargled once more and rinsed her toothbrush.

Unbeknownst to her, her lover was tiptoeing towards the bathroom.
“Well, it’s kind of sexy getting such information…”
Her lover was upon her. He held her from the back and kissed her neck. Her pulse quickened.
“…. from you!” she whispered.

Chemutai was chafed from the night long of love making. But there was something irresistible in this man. It was in the way he looked her straight in the eye as he pushed his firm manhood into her. It was in the way he held her gently like a baby, the way she felt so small, vulnerable and wanted when with him. It was in the way he encouraged her to come.
She wondered if he took aphrodisiac. Or watched pornography. His performance had remarkably improved over time.
“Do you watch porn?” She let away once, after a round of exciting sex.
He laughed it off.

“Come on my dick. You have to come.” He would say. And as though she was waiting for the verbal cue, her body would tighten. She would squeal and release a broken “l… a…m c..uuuummiiiiing” then flatten on the bed. “Yeeeees!” Her lover would affirm victoriously, pumping faster and following suit. They would lock eyes, laugh in unison, then sleep in each other’s embrace.

Chemutai turned to face him, their lips locked. The towel around her loosened and dropped. They kissed harder.
“Here or bed?”
“Bed please,” She whispered.
He pulled her to himself, lifted and carried her to the bed.

They had known each other for two years. It was the first time Chemutai was in that kind of a relationship-with an older, married man. After their very first sexual encounter, she felt so burdened with guilt that she had to go for confession, even though she had enjoyed it. The confession however did not go as usual;

‘Bless me Father because I have sinned. I made my confession six months ago and I performed my penance. I accuse myself of forni…er..er ..er adultery…Well, it’s a married man. Which one is it?’

This was followed by an awkward silence. The priest who was on the other side of the confessional booth, veiled with a translucent curtain lifted his head. Through the curtain, their eyes met and held for a second.
“I’m sorry,” she muttered.
She then rose quickly and left before the priest said the words of absolution.

It disturbed her that the priest lifted his head to see her. At home, she googled, “Is a priest supposed to lift his head and look during a confession?” But she didn’t get a satisfying answer.
Chemutai and her lover kept seeing each other anyway. They became more and more familiar and comfortable together.

Chemutai’s lover dropped her on the bouncy mattress, and undressed. He started to hover above her.
He pumped one two three, then he slowed and stopped. His eyes bulged and his mouth foamed.
Chemutai screamed as he rolled him over.

Was Chemutai’s lover under some kind of spell or was he on Viagra pills?
Could her confession to the priest have something to do with it. Maybe it could be a spiritual battle.
