Oh life, how fickle?
My day unfolded seamlessly, the rhythm of life dancing gracefully to the well-orchestrated plan. I met some interesting personalities, their stories etching lasting impressions on my mind, teaching invaluable lessons that got me reflecting on life.
There was a golden moment as part of my day: a fundraiser for a noble cause. The feeling of unity, the shared purpose, and the tidal wave of support from cherished friends came in handy, leaving a sense of profound gratitude.
But life, with its symphony of harmonies and dissonances, introduced a sour note. An unwelcome phone call erupted – a torrent of one-sided ranting, a monologue clothed as dialogue, a reservoir of negativity seeking an outlet. I felt the cold gust of resentment but swiftly severed the conversation, refusing to be a receptacle for such vitriol.
In the backdrop of our busy lives came the shocking news of a colleague’s severe ailment. The image of him just a week ago, an epitome of health, clashed with the present reality, leaving us wondering about the delicate nature of life. A few of us decided to visit. Well, he was smiling, putting on a strong face, but the fact that he was in the state he was in, made it clear that he needed help. All we could offer in the face of medical uncertainty was prayer and encouragement.
So, what jewels of wisdom did I glean from the day? ?
1. Life, a rich pageant of encounters and experiences, imparts lessons through the diverse individuals we meet, each one a chapter in our ongoing saga.
2. We possess the power to deflect negativity, and refuse to serve as dumping grounds for others’ discontent, protecting our peace and well-being.
3. Seize every opportunity to radiate positivity, whether independently or collaboratively. Embrace the chance to become a beacon of hope and change.
4. Health, indeed, is our greatest treasure, a wealth too often taken for granted until it dwindles. Appreciate each heartbeat, each breath as priceless gifts.
5. Life can be a roller coaster, unpredictable and sudden in its ups and downs. Thus, rejoice in every moment, relish every drop of joy while it lasts.
6. When all seems lost, it’s the friends who have shared life’s simple pleasures with you who come forward, their presence a soothing lighthouse in the storm. Cherish these relationships, these anchors in your life. ☀
7. Life, a precious, fleeting journey, deserves more appreciation and less complaint, more celebration and less resentment. Savour its splendours and learn from its trials, for each day is a gift unwrapped anew. ?
